New Water-borne Fire-Retardant Liquid
In the wake of recent tragic disasters, and with ever increasing regulations regarding fire protection, we are excited to announce the launch of our new fire retardant impregnant for wood.
Correct specification and the correct use of modern fire-retardant treatments can help to ensure that wood is a long lasting and safe choice of building material. Also, wood in itself has excellent properties that help it to perform well in a fire situation over alternative building material. It has a steady charring rate, low heat conduction, and does not distort at high temperatures.
Fire fighters prefer to enter a burning building made out of timber, because they have a good knowledge of how long they can safely remain in the structure. In a fire, wood carbonises from the outside in, leaving a core of structurally strong timber – that is why it is predictable; unlike masonry which cracks; or steel which buckles and twists.
MP Ultra is a transparent water-borne impregnant which will give Class B-S1, d0 fire rating (equivalent to BS Class 0) to virtually any timber or timber-based substrate. It is halogen-free; non-toxic; non-carcinogenic; non-hazardous; and will not change the appearance of the timber. It is designed to be simple to use – surface applied, manually or industrially, by spray, roller, or brush – in the workshop or on site.
Suitable for a variety of applications on floors, structural timbers, timber framing, panelling, decking, fencing, sheds, garden buildings – MP Ultra is available in both interior & exterior grades.
